My brother, James, took his own life in 1996.

He was 27 at the time.

29 years on and I still feel like suicide is a dirty word.

My name is Mick Rowe and I want to get people talking about suicide without shame. Most people will have suicidal feelings at some point in their life and maybe if we have open and honest discussions about this, we can take suicide off the menu and remove all the stigmas surrounding it.

I decided to make a short documentary to get people talking. I started on my own doorstep, here in Penistone, South Yorkshire. I put a post on my local community Facebook page asking people to share their stories with me and I was overwhelmed by the response.

After the documentary I decided to start my own Suicide Sucks! facebook community and my own podcast, Still Here To Tell The Tale.
